Dr Aggrey Kiyingi to ensure Uganda opposition presidential candidates agreee and fight the revised EC road map.
Uganda president hopeful Dr Aggrey Kiyingi has called upon all opposition presidential aspirants to meet immediately after the opening up of the Entebbe International Airport to discuss a united opposition.
Australian based Cardiologist has offered the venue and accommodation for the principals of the meeting.
Dr Kiyingi told Whisper Eye News that the only way to defeat Mr Museveni is by uniting as opposition.
However, Uganda Federal Democratic Organisation (UFDO) Chairman, Dr Kiyingi said that unity must be built through a proper basis.
And he advised that all opposition presidential aspirants must be involved to have a common decision..
‘There must be transparent discussions of the principles of unity and democracy,’ says Dr Kiyingi.
Dr Kiyingi has already offered to meet all opposition presidential aspirants to discuss about a united opposition.
He declined saying that Mr Museveni may interrupt the arrangements.
‘We can not answer where to meet now, that will be between the opposition presidential candidates,’ says Dr Kiyingi.
‘Unity must be with honest and Integrity, he warned.’
Among the key issues to discuss is the controversial revised EC road map for the 2020/21 general elections which contradict with the 1995 Constitution of Uganda, by banning political rallies.
Dr Kiyingi warned opposition forces that if the unity is not properly handled it may end up as a disadvantageous to the struggle to defeat president Museveni.
Kale Kayihura the former IGP once accused Dr Aggery Kiyingi of treason although this came to pass.
He is very critical of president Museveni government ever since he became political.
Among the presidential aspirants cleared by the EC to go for the consultative meetings include; Kyadondo East MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, former security minister Rtd Lt. Gen Henry Tumukunde, Environment activist Mr Mugerwa Timothy, 2016 presidential candidate Mabiriizi and others.
The process was interrupted by the outbreak of Covid-19 lockdown.
Others with interest are People’s government president Dr Kiiza Besigye Kifeefe, Democratic Party (DP) president Hon Norbert Mao, Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) president Gen Gregory Mugisha Muntu.
